Recommendations
Cycling waterproofs
We recommend getting a full set of cycling waterproofs
When it's raining or a full-on downpour, cycling waterproofs are a must, and the best way to keep warm on days with poor weather conditions.
For most riders, the chance of rain is a possible occurrence, having cycling waterproofs like a jacket, trousers, gloves, and even waterproof socks can make a real difference to personal safety and comfort when the weather is changeable. A waterproof layer allows you to go out and cycle, with confidence and creates an effective barrier from wind chill. Without a suitable barrier in wet or windy conditions, your body temperature can drop quickly to a potentially dangerous level, which can lead to hypothermia.
GPS cycling computers
We recommend getting a GPS cycling computer with navigation
Having a navigation device on your bike will help you to navigate a route, in case you become separated from the group. Our events have a GPX route file that can be installed on most makes of cycling computers, please check before purchasing a device as it might not be compatible with GPX route files. An alternative to a cycling computer is to use a smartphone, however battery life and route file compatibility could be an issue.
