C2C Tour

The C2C cycling challenge tour is unique to cycle explorers. We take you on the official cycle network route from the coast of Whitehaven in the Cumbria Lake District to the coast at Tynemouth in Tyne and Wear, then cycling back to Whitehaven following the historic and picturesque Hadrian's Wall cycleway.

​

On this tour, you will be cycling for five days covering approximately 287 miles and 18,666ft of ascent.

This tour has it all from coastal views and rivers to mountains, woodland, and famous landmarks. The achievements will feel endless with epic climbs and mountain passes, including the Hartside summit and Parkhead station in the north Pennies.

​

We also offer the option of a three-day C2C challenge from Whitehaven in the Cumbria Lake District to Tynemouth in Tyne and Wear.

Example Itinerary

Based on a Six day challenge Tour

Unless stated getting to and from the start and finish locations of this challenge need to be arranged by yourself unless you have booked a transfer with us.

Day One

Whitehaven To Penrith

Starting at the famous C2C Landmark at Whitehaven, you start your cycling and join the national cycle network c2c route.

The route has low traffic with long sections of cycle path, riding up and down the undulations of the Lake District.

Day Two

Penrith To Allenheads

Leaving Penrith continuing on the cycle network to start our climbing to the north pennies. Today will take us to the highest point on the cycle network and up the infamous 1903 ft climb to the Hartside summit.

Day Three

Allenheads To Tynemouth

Leaving Allenheads and heading to Tynemouth, Cycling up and down the last few undulations of the North Pennies before our climb to Parkhead Station. Now at the 100-mile point of the challenge, we join the Waskerley Way cycle path which is mostly downhill to the finish!

Day Four

Tynemouth To Haltwhistle

Setting off from Tynemouth and joining the Hadrian's Cycleway. weaving around this fabulous historic countryside. Taking in views of Hadrian's wall on our way to Haltwhistle

Day Five

Haltwhistle To Whitehaven

Continuing on Hadrian's Cycleway and heading to Carlisle the last English city before the Scottish border. Once through Carlisle we start heading back to the coast for nice coastal views before we reach our finish at Whitehaven.

Day Six

Whitehaven To Home

We say good bye at breakfast, It`s time to head home. Making your own way home unless a prearranged transfer has been booked with us.
